  • Salinity guardian - cleaning and regeneration of the probe.

For proper operation of the Salinity guardian, it is required that the probe, especially the graphite components, be perfectly clean. If dirt has accumulated on the surface of the probe, which can not be washed off with a soft brush, its surface should be regenerated with a special file.

    Items needed:

    • container with RO water

    • cloth to dry the probe

    • soft brush

    • file for regenerating the graphite electrode (gradation 600 or higher)

    1. Disconnect the probe from the device

    2. Soak the probe along with the file in water for a minimum of 5 minutes.

    3. If there are large debris or deposits on the probe and inside, remove them with a soft toothbrush, then rinse and wipe the probe clean.

    4. Insert the moistened file into the hole in the probe and gently sand the side surfaces by pressing the file evenly. Then repeat the operation on the opposite side of the hole. Try to grind the graphite ovals inside the probe so that they get a gray color over their entire surface.

NOTE: Use only files with a gradation of 600 or higher to regenerate the surface of the probe. Using a file with too low a gradation may permanently damage the probe.

    Properly cleaned probe:
