Salinity Guardian measurement inaccuracy
If you experience any issues with the accuracy of your Salinity Guardian, please follow these steps:
Check if the probe is installed correctly in the tank. The probe has to be installed in the area where the water is flowing. The temperature sensor has to be placed near the salinity probe. The salinity probe cannot be installed in close proximity to the heating element, RO water inlet or other liquid inlets.
Be sure that the probe is submerged in the water between 7 cm and 12 cm measure from the tip of the probe. The length of the whole salinity probe is 16 cm. The probe should be mounted vertically. Remember, that submerging it in the water completely may cause damage to the probe!
Calibrate your Salinity Guardian. You can do it in our Smart Reef system. Simply select your device from the list on the left, then click on the button called "Settings" a choose respectively "Probe Calibration" and "Temperature Calibration". Follow the on-screen instructions, Smart Reef will guide you through the calibration.
Try to reset your Salinity Guardian with the provided magnet. It will bring the Salinity Guardian back to factory settings, so you will need to connect it you your device and Smart Reef account again.
Use a different power supply. Salinity Guardian is very sensitive to the quality of power supply, and may give inaccurate readings when using aftermarket power supplies.
