V. Pump calibration.

Pump calibration is for the correct calculation of topped-up water statistics. Calibration should be repeated periodically depending on the frequency of operation of the unit. The recommended calibration interval is 1 month.

Dosing pump ATO can be calibrated in 2 ways:

By volume using a measuring vessel

By weight using a jeweller's balance

NOTE: Before starting calibration, the device must be placed in the target location, connected to the Smart reef account, and hoses of the target length must be used for calibration.

To perform the calibration you will need:

  • Dosing pump ATO

  • Measuring vessel or scale with vessel

To start calibration, select the Dosing pump ATO you wish to calibrate from the list of devices and then go to the "Settings" tab.

If the pump, currently requires calibration, an exclamation mark will be visible next to the "Settings" tab, which will disappear after calibration.

From the Settings tab view, select "Requires calibration" if this is the first calibration or the designated calibration date determines its necessity. If it is a recalibration, the window will be available as "Calibration".

NOTE: Before the next step, make sure that the water intake hose is in the container from which you want to take water, and that the hose pouring the liquid is over the empty vessel. Then use the "Fill circuit" function to bleed the system.

When the feed tube is in the corresponding vessel, select "Fill circuit" from the menu

The pump will start for 30 seconds, filling the circuit. Check that the entire circuit has filled with fluid, if air bubbles are visible in the circuit. Repeat until the system is completely filled with fluid.

Place the fluid feed tube over the empty vessel. If you want to calibrate the pump by weight, place the vessel on a scale, start and wipe so that the scale indicates 0.00 grams.

When the fluid feed tube is over the empty vessel, select "Start calibration" from the menu

The pump will start for 30 seconds, pouring the liquid. Once the 30 seconds have elapsed and the pump has stopped, enter the number of millilitres pumped into the vessel in the window. If calibrating with a scale, we assume that 1g of RO water is 1ml.

Confirm by pressing "Ok".

After the calibration is completed, an accuracy test is recommended to check the correctness of the calibration.

Attention: Remember to put the hose back in the target holder.

Accuracy test.

The accuracy test is used to verify that the calibration has been carried out correctly. It should be performed after each calibration, and if the values differ significantly, the calibration should be repeated.

Place the water filler hose over the measuring vessel or over the vessel on the tared scale.

From the device menu, go to the "Settings" tab and select calibration.

Check the amount of fluid pumped. If it is outside your acceptable range, repeat the calibration.

Attention: Remember to put the hose back in the target holder.
