IntroductionVerifying the calibration of a measuring cuvette is a process to confirm if the calibration process of the cuvette has passed. The essence of verification is to confirm if the Smart Tester has taken the correct volume of water sample for testing. The process is divided into two steps: taking a 10ml water sample, ( Settings -> Calibration verification -> Take ), emptying the measurement cuvette and silicon tubes ( Settings -> Calibration verification -> Empty ).
Preparation for the verification procedure For the calibration verification process of the measuring cuvette, prepare: Two silicon tubes about 20cm long each. A beaker of RO water or brine. It is recommended to prepare at least 20ml volume of liquid so that the silicon tubes will not be aerated when the Smart Tester takes a water sample. A syringe with a volume of at least 10ml.
Launch Taking a 10 ml of water sample processTo launch the process, just select Take position in a the Calibration verification, in the Settings of device menu. Next, follow the messages. If more details is needed, read “Taking a 10 ml of water sample process” chapter, below in this document. step 1/3 Preparing for the calibration verification process of the measuring cuvette. | The calibration verification process of the measuring cuvette is used to verify the calibration process of the measuring cuvette. The whole process will take up to 15 minutes. For verification of the the calibration of the measuring cuvette, prepare: Two silicon tubes about 20cm long each. A beaker of RO water or brine. It is recommended to prepare at least 20ml volume of liquid so that the silicon tubes will not be aerated when the Smart Tester takes a water sample. A syringe with a volume of at least 10ml.
Install a washed and clean measuring cuvette into the Smart Tester according to the instructions. Don't forget to place the magnetic mixer lozenge in the measuring cuvette. Connect the prepared silicon tubes to the aquarium water connection - IN and the used water connection - OUT in the Smart Tester. Place the silicon tubes in the beaker of water. Then press the "Start" button. | Image Removed Image Added20cm silicon tubes placed in the beaker of water, connected aquarium water connections - IN and used water connections - OUT in the Smart Tester | step 2/3 Taking a 10ml water sample. | Taking 10ml volume of water. The step will take up to 10 minutes and during this time the Smart Tester will perform the following actions: the emptying pump will remove water from the measuring cuvette (2.5 minutes). the filling pump will vent the water silicon tubes (up to 2.5 minutes). the measuring system will be thermally stabilized (0.5 minutes). the emptying pump will remove water from the measuring cuvette (up to 2.5 minutes), the filling pump will draw 10ml of water into the measuring cuvette (up to 2.5 minutes),
Make sure that the silicon tubes are immersed in water and no airing of the silicon tubes occurs. The indication on the housing will turn blue and then yellow when the step is completed successfully, or red if an error occurs. | Image Removed Image Added20cm silicon tubes placed in the beaker of water | step 3/3 Verification of the taken water sample. | Remove the measuring cuvette, and then use a syringe to draw water from the measuring cuvette. If the calibration process has passed correctly then the volume of water taken should be 10ml. | Image Removed Image AddedManual taken of a water sample from the measuring cuvette into a syringe.
